Havent Got Time for the PainThe pain was crippling and completely unbearable, but as the CEO of my family, how could I survive nearly a month and a half on pain pills? Thats how long I was first told I would have to wait for lithotripsy the treatment I needed for my kidney stone. In the meantime, my family still needed me to be their full-time superhero an impossible feat while living with unimaginable pain. Then we found out that Trident Medical Center is the only area hospital to offer lithotripsy service 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week, so a quick call to Dr. David Brandli was all it took to get the immediate relief I needed to function as Super Mom again. Not Just Another Fish TaleI've had four prior knee surgeries, so I've had a lot of experience with physical therapy, but Michelle, my primary physical therapist at Summerville Medical Center, is the best I've ever worked with. She pulls no punches and seems to get more out of me than I ever thought possible. Our three-time-a-week sessions are very structured and produce results. That's why I always look forward to the next session. I've had a great experience at Summerville Medical Center. A staff as professional as Summerville Medical Center's and who cares as much about their patients is, in my experience, a rare catch! Tom Lindenmayer |

Now I know why they say Closer, Faster, Better. The chest pains were scary, but with Summerville Medical Center just minutes away from home, my husband urged me to get to the hospital quickly. I was treated with urgency and great care. In fact, within about 20 minutes testing confirmed I was not having a heart attack. I couldn't have been in better or kinder hands than of those who cared for me at Summerville Medical Center's emergency room. They certainly were closer, faster and just plain better. Margie Corn |

Can't Keep a Good Man DownAn accident in the warehouse busted my shoulder leaving me in incredible pain. I couldn't even hold out my left arm to grab onto a glass of water. But within two weeks after Dr. Dalton performed reverse shoulder replacement surgery at Summerville Medical Center, I was back to work and doing just about anything I wanted. When there's work to be done, there's no time for pain. Charles Johnson |

Back in the Game, Without Any Pain.Speed, agility and hard work have earned William the starting tailback position for the Goose Creek Gators. That means he's got to be on top of his game, playing his best, every play, every practice and especially, every game. When William was injured in the middle of last season, running and cutting was really painful, and suddenly it looked like his chances at college ball might be in jeopardy. That's when the team's athletic trainer, Ernie Drews, A.T.C., advised William to go to Trident Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation's Saturday Morning Clinic. Dr. Windler diagnosed the sports hernia and set him up with one of Trident Sports Medicine's athletic trainers. "My trainer stuck by my side, stretching and working with me every day until I was back in the game and showing what I'm really made of." William Austin |
